Pheromone Network

A window into emergent collective intelligence

Pheromone Analytics

Detailed breakdown of pheromone distribution. Superhighways crystallize when levels exceed 20.

How Pheromones Work

Pheromones are chemical signals that ants deposit as they move through the environment. In our digital colony, agents deposit "pheromones" (weighted markers) on paths they traverse.

When an agent finds a promising region, it deposits stronger pheromones. Over time, successful paths accumulate pheromones, attracting more agents. This creates superhighways - paths with pheromone levels above 20.

STAN Formula

effective_cost = base_weight / (1 + pheromone_level * influence)

Superhighway threshold > 20 pheromones
Decay rate 0.1 per cycle

Pheromone Lifecycle

Deposit

Agent deposits pheromone after finding promising region

Amplify

Multiple agents reinforce successful paths

Superhighway

Path crystallizes when level > 20

Decay

Unused paths fade, keeping network fresh
